Phil Hellmuth vs. Parker Talbot & Olivier Busquet vs. Shaun Deeb with $200,000 on the line. Haralabos Voulgaris shuns White Magic, calls Doug Polk “just a YouTube personality.”

The Poker Night in America King of The Hill heads-up competition returns in one week when big name pros Phil Hellmuth, Parker Talbot, Olivier Busquet and Shaun Deeb arrive at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh for two days of No Limit Hold’em action with the winner taking home $200,000 USD.

Semi-final matchups for the October 6th and 7th showcase event were announced Wednesday by Team Upswing Lead Creative Talent Doug Polk on Facebook Live (RESULTS — 7:00).

Doug will be in the announcer’s booth throughout the contest, which will also see a return of the popular REVEAL BUTTON. The feature was introduced by Poker Night in America during the inaugural KOTH telecast won by none other than White Magic Sorcerer and 14-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth.

Friday’s winners will advance to the King of The Hill Round 2 Finals on Saturday, October 7th to play for the ongoing KOTH title belt and $200,000 USD. The action will be streamed live next weekend starting at 6:00pm Eastern Time on the PokerNightTV Twitch Channel.

Phil Hellmuth Initiates Twitter Firestorm

Phil Hellmuth Poker Night in America

Since completing one of the most epic comebacks in televised poker history during last month’s King of The Hill event against Jungleman Dan Cates, the “Poker Brat” has become even more confident about his poker prowess.

The three-decade live poker veteran and former WSOP Main Event champion has regained his status as a top-tier poker personality in recent months thanks to his open communication with fans and colleagues who have watched his guest appearances on the Poker Life Podcast and Doug Polk YouTube Channel.

As Phil Hellmuth was taking to Twitter to express his discontent with frequent high roller tournaments enabling young superstars like Fedor Holz to surpass him on the all-time money list, he also took the opportunity to engage with fellow big name pro Daniel Negreanu. (A full recap of the social media spat has been documented by PokerNews contributor Kim Yuhl here).

However, the discussion carried over when Hellmuth name-dropped our very own Doug Polk and Ryan Fee to justify his belief that he is the best ever in No Limit Hold’em poker events — eventually attracting the attention of high stakes community veteran and NBA wagering guru Haralabos Voulgaris.

The result was a heavy dose of social media shade being thrown towards the 2017 WSOP High Roller for One Drop winner when Voulgaris called Doug “just a YouTube personality.”
