Connecting Your Own Sims

Lucid Poker members can optionally connect their own solver work to the tool. This page walks you through the steps to do so.

Let’s go over how to use your own solver work inside Lucid Poker .

Start by clicking the setting icon on the lower left of the homepage screen. From there, scroll down and click “Manage local sims”, then click “Create new library”.

You’ll then arrive at the ‘Edit Library” screen and see the following fields for you to fill out:

  • Title - give your sim a recognizable title (i.e. My spins library, my 6-max library, etc.)
  • Description - This optional field allows you to add an additional description
  • Table size - Input the number of players at the table in your sim
  • Format - choose cash game or tournament
  • Rake percent - input the rake amount for the sim

After you’ve inputted these fields, click the “Add pack” button at the bottom right of the screen.

Click “Add Pack” takes you to a screen with the header “Edit Sim Pack”.

You’ll see fields to include the stack size for your sim (for example, for a Spin N Go sim the stack size might be something like 23BB). There’s also an optional field for an additional description of your sim.

If you use Hold’emResources calculator, you can add an optional preflop sim by clicking the “Update preflop sim” button.

Once you’ve filled in the required fields, click “Add postflop sim” at the bottom right of the screen.

The next screen (titled “Add postflop sim”) is the last step in the process of uploading a local sim to Lucid Poker.

In the “Situation name” field, input a brief description for the situation. We recommend just typing something simple like “SRP”, “3-bet pot”, “4-bet pot”, etc. here.

In the next field down (the “Sim folder path” field), click the blue folder icon at the far right. From there, find the folder that holds your sims. Note that you’re just picking the locations here, so the folder will appear empty. Just make sure you pick the one that holds all of your sims.

Specify the file type (PIOSolver or JeSolver), then what street the sim is for. Next, choose the specifications for your sim with the following fields:

  • Position 1 and Position 2 - Choose the position for both players in your sim.
  • Table size - The number of players at the table in your sim
  • Stack sizes - If you’re using asymmetrical stack sizes, input each stack size separated by a comma in this field
  • Small blind, Big blind, and ante - Input the amount of the blinds and ante for your sim
  • Rake % and Rake cap - Input the rake percentage and the rake cap (in chips)

The final step is choosing your Prelfop node. In other words, what actions were taken preflop to lead to this specific postlfop sim.

Notice the node ID on the left updating as you choose your actions in the Preflop node field. It will change with each action you take. If you need to change anything once you start inputting the action, click the go back button under the node ID.

Ensure that the node ID is correct, then click “Save”, then click “Save Sim Pack”. From there, click “Save library”, and you should be back on the “Manage local sims” page.

Once you’ve saved your local sim, go to the Lucid Poker home screen. You’ll then see your new sim among the game selections available.
