Notable Reviews from Rivers Casino Poker Players

“I spent the next 5 1/2 hours playing 1/2 NL cash. Again the dealers were efficient and there were plenty of regs at the table. One nice thing is that when they swept your players card and you would tip after winning the pot they would thank you by name. Which I found a nice touch. The room had 2/3 of the tables going by 8pm in the evening and I found the people at the table I was playing serious, but friendly. The room itself was in great shape. The bathrooms located just of the tournament area were clean and the poker room being non-smoking was comfortable. If I found myself back in Pittsburgh I would absolutely visit this room again.” –Anonymous

“As far as the competition goes, the players run the usual mix from pretty good to pretty horrible, from nit to maniac. When I first started going there, I found the dealers to be spotty and prone to mistakes. Over the last few months, however, the dealers have improved to the point where I think they’re among the best I’ve seen. They’re friendly, knowledgeable, and know how to control a table. Kudos to both the dealers and the management for making the effort to get better. Most rooms don’t do that.” –Moore

“Food is ok and nothing special, although the rivers buffet is supposed to be excellent. Comps are also only ok, but that is out of the poker rooms control. Another reviewer mentioned the room being dirty. I have not seen that. Perhaps he caught them on a bad night or the problem has been fixed. If you’re in Pittsburgh or if you haven’t been here in a while, check this place out. They have good cash offerings, excellent tournaments, and good promotions around both.” –Moore

The Bottom Line

Overall, Rivers Casino Poker Room gets a four-star review. The room is solid in all areas and offers good cash games and tournaments. The room has plenty of tables to accommodate the local market and players that play there generally have positive things to say about it. It is the best poker room for poker players in the Pittsburgh area.
