What is Trap in Poker?

Trapping means betting weakly, checking, or otherwise playing a strong hand in a passive way with the goal being to trick other players into betting thinking that they can win the pot.

“I decided to trap with my pocket aces, so I checked the flop instead of betting.” Also known as slow playing.
