What is Live Cards in Poker?

In Hold’em games, having live cards refers to a weak hand that is not dead and still has a reasonable chance of winning. For example, if you have A9 and your opponent has QQ, and the flop is 923, you still have live cards, as an ace or a nine puts you ahead.
