What is Dirty Stack in Poker?

« View All Poker Terms

A dirty stack is a live poker chip stack that has a chip of the wrong denomination in it. When playing live poker it’s common courtesy to keep your stacks separated by denomination, in stacks of 20, so that your opponents can quickly calculate the amount you are playing.

Hiding higher denomination chips on purpose is angling, and highly frowned upon. Make sure to keep your highest denomination chips separate and clearly visible at all times!
