What is Cap in Poker?
Cap can mean several different things:
1. The limit placed on the number of raises allowed in a round of betting, usually three or four in most limit games.
2. The upper limit that can be bet or raised at once.
3. The maximum allowed buy-in for a cash game. An “uncapped” cash game would signify that there is no max buy-in amount.
4. A player placing a chip or token atop his/her hole cards or the dealer placing a chip atop the rest of the undealt cards for protection
