Notable Reviews from Daytona Beach Kennel Club Players

Friendly dealers make this a fun room. I feel coffee should be free like most other rooms but, whatever. They have the best promotions and make it worth the drive.

It’s a solid room, had about 30 tables running when I was there. A lot of older people from my experience; I was there on a Sunday, during winter break time. It’s a Kennel Club so they have a dog track and such, I didn’t go to it. Seemed like an easier game than most casinos, but always hard to say on a small sample size. Not as many amenities as a casino, but a lot nicer than a poker club, charity games, etc. Can’t beat Florida weather in the winter, either. Sounded like there was some comps, but I had no interest since I was only there shortly during a vacation from a cruise.

They have a loud speaker that they use to announce players to games. It is obnoxiously loud. Ridiculously loud. As I play, which is probably 50 feet or more from the speaker, all talking stops For me, all thinking stops. I was trying to listen to a basketball game, and could not.

How anyone could think a speaker system that loud and obnoxious was appropriate is a mystery to me. If I was playing cash I would just leave, but I am playing an otherworldly well ran tournament, so I will endure it.

The room was clean and the brush was quick and efficient. Every dealer that sat in the box was very good and polite and ran a smooth game. I would say the level of competition at my table was a 8/10 and most players were solid, tight/aggressive. Table side food service was available and the wait staff courteous.
