Sim Explorer
The Sim Browser within the Lucid Poker Trainer puts millions upon millions of GTO poker strategies at your fingertips.
The main Sim Browser screen looks like this:
Let’s discuss some of the things we see on this screen.
Node navigation - The menu on the bottom left of the screen allows you to click through a hand and set up the scenario you want to study. If you want to set up a Cutoff open versus Big Blind call spot, for example, you would do so just like what appears in the screenshot here.
Strategy - Each decision point in the node navigation displays the Lucid-approved strategy for that position given the action so far. For example, if the Cutoff open raises and the action folds to the Big Blind, the Big Blind’s GTO strategy will appear in the matrix in the middle of the screen:
If you click on a specific hand in the matrix, the strategy for that particular hand will appear to the bottom right of the matrix.
For example, if we click on Q8 suited, we see how the Big Blind should play that hand against a Cutoff open:
Flop selection screen - Once you’ve chosen a preflop scenario, the flop selection screen will appear.
For any flop you choose, Lucid gives you the option to study it with any combination of suits. If you move the hand through to the turn and/or river, you’ll get to choose any cards you want for those streets as well.
Postflop screen - Let’s say you select a K72 rainbow flop. The Lucid Sim Browser then goes to the postflop screen. If you make the Big Blind check and the Cutoff c-bet small, you’ll then see the Big Blind’s GTO-approved response to that c-bet in the hand matrix:
Hand class breakdown - The top right of the screen displays the hand class breakdown. This concisely displays how each type of hand plays, and what percentage of your overall range each hand class makes up. You can click on a specific hand class to see the overall strategy for that hand class appear in the hand matrix.
Strategy and Strategy + EV tabs - The tabs just above the hand matrix allow you to toggle between Strategy (displays the overall strategy) and Strategy + EV (which adds the expected value for each decision).
Actions - The action tabs at the top of the screen display the frequencies for the overall strategy. For example, if you make the Cutoff open and the action folds to the Big Blind, the Big Blind’s overall frequencies for folding, calling, and raising look like this:
The Lucid solution here has us folding 60%t of the time, calling 31% of the time, and raising 9% of the time. The number of combos that comprise each decision are displayed as well.
The colors for each action are the same in the action tabs above and the hand matrix below.
Stacks - The stacks button at the top left of the screen allows you to switch between 100-big-blind and 200-big-blind stacks for your sim.
Open another Sim Browser window - If you want to compare two scenarios and look at the Lucid solutions for each, click on the icon at the top left corner of the screen to open another Sim Browser window.
Let’s take one more look at the main Sim Browser screen to look at these last two features;
The Stacks toggle is visible in the top left corner of the screen, and the icon to open another Sim Browser screen is directly above the Stacks toggle (the square with the arrow).
Create drill from here - The icon at the bottom right corner of the screen allows you to create a Custom Drill based on the scenario that you’re studying in the Sim Browser.
