What is PFR in Poker?

The poker term PFR has two common definitions.

PFR can stand for Pre-flop Raiser, which is the first player to raise preflop in a poker hand. For example, if the action folds to you in a $1/$2 No Limit Hold’em game and you raise to $8, you are the PFR.

Poker database software like PokerTracker uses the acronym PFR to refer to a player’s pre-flop raise frequency. For example, if you raise 3 out of the first 10 hands in a poker game, your PFR would be 30% (see also: VPIP).
