What is Coin Flip in Poker?
« View All Poker Terms
Also known as simply a “flip,” a coin flip is a situation in which two players have a fairly equal chance of winning a hand. This term is derived from the actual flipping of a coin in which there is a 50-50 chance of landing on a head or tail. For example, JJ versus AK preflop is often referred to as a coin flip, since the odds of winning are so close between the two hands.
