What is Bankroll in Poker?

Bankroll refers to the total amount of money a poker player draws from to play poker. For example, a player may regularly play a $200 buy-in poker game drawing from a $5,000 bankroll.
Note that a bankroll is different from savings, as this money is specifically designated for poker. That said, many players blur the lines between bankroll and savings (see: Bankroll Management).
