Nick Schulman Wins Inaugural Poker Masters Event
Poker high roller eclipses $10 million in career live tournament cashes.
Professional poker player, perennial high roller tournament competitor and ace play-by-play broadcaster Nick Schulman took down the first ever Poker Masters event Thursday. The 32-year old walked away with just over $900,000 USD in the first of several high roller events that will decide the 2017 Poker Masters champion.
Will O’Connor published the official story at PokerCentral shortly after Schulman surpassed $10,000,000 in career live poker tournament cashes, according to The Hendon Mob.
The 2017 Poker Masters will boast real money high roller poker tournaments over the next few days, culminating in a $100,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event starting Monday afternoon Las Vegas local time. The live stream action is being live-cast with a short delay exclusively on PokerGO (premium $9.99/month subscription service) from now until September 20th.
Player-Media-Operator Collaboration at All-Time High
The big money tournament series continues an ongoing trend of historic player engagement with veteran and recreational players alike — as the top personalities in the game flex their mainstream marketing muscle as cast members of popular TV shows such as Poker After Dark, Poker Night in America and Live at the Bike.
This year’s push towards televised poker has witnessed a significant rise in high roller entertainer equity, as dozens of the biggest names in poker have gotten on the same page with TV programming executives to bring forth showcase telecasts that aim to please poker enthusiasts of all skill levels.

This is great news for Giveaway fans who were delighted this past July when the three-time WSOP bracelet winner gifted $30,000 cash to the poker community after winning the 2017 High Roller for One Drop.
PokerNews is live at the scene and will be on hand to report the action from the Aria Casino & Resort. You can check out those live updates here.
Best of luck to Doug as well as Major Wager host Joey Ingram. It looks as if Papi will be shaving his head if the Twitch and YouTube live stream MTT record holder is able to take Event #3 down this Saturday.
