What is the 7-2 Game in Poker?

The 7-2 Game is a variant in NL Hold’em cash games where if a player wins with 72o or 72s they are awarded an agreed upon bonus from the other players. They can win by showing down the best hand or bluffing, it doesn’t matter.

This game builds off the idea that 72 is the worst starting hand in Hold’em so would typically never be played in a standard game. Adding the bonus payout shifts the game from being zero-sum to not, and impacts the optimal strategies.
