Table Talk with Polk & Papi Episode 2

Watch the latest episode of Table Talk with Polk & Papi, plus a summarized recap of the November 30, 2016 poker show.

Upswing Poker featured pro Doug Polk and Poker Life Podcast creator Joey Ingram got together Wednesday to air the much-anticipated second episode of Table Talk with Polk & Papi.

The show is now available on YouTube and is embedded below along with a summarized recap of covered topics.

(0:00) EPISODE #2 INTRO

Table Talk with Polk & Papi returns with an all-new episode. Doug and Joey are thankful for viewers’ feedback from last week’s pilot, Joey debuts his DSLR camera as a webcam, then gives a shout-out to people who love “breaking down” and getting “specific” with everything.

(1:11) BRIAN HASTINGS QUITS POKER?

Professional poker player Brian Hastings is back in the news again. This week he posted a blog entry on his personal website that touches on various highlights of his career and announces he’s stepping down as a full-time pro.

Joey comments that Brian has had a number of issues with the poker community of the years, including a Virtual Private Network (VPN) multi-accounting scandal that is covered extensively in the following TwoPlusTwo thread.

Doug points out that these practices are (allegedly?) common among a large number of professional players and adds how one’s word is of utmost importance in the gambling world.

(4:09) DAVID BAAZOV AMAYA OFFER STANDS

Former Amaya Gaming top executive David Baazov has done his share of high-stakes maneuvering this past week in a proposed deal that once again revolves around billions of dollars and scandal. How has Amaya Inc‘s stock price reacted to the drama, plus a discussion on how to convince investors to commit 10-figures to your business plan.

(9:31) PRIVATE HIGH STAKES POKER AT ARIA LAS VEGAS

Did you know that there are PRIVATE high stakes poker games going on at the ARIA poker room in Las Vegas? Doug gets on his soap box about “shady” waiting lists into these exclusive games which tend to welcome 2016 WSOP Main Event Champion Qui Nguyen over established pros such as 2012 Main Event winner Greg Merson.

According to both Table Talk personalities, these games have been going on for years, yet “nothing” has been done to address concerns related to their dubious nature. Apparently the games are run by discriminating minds.

(13:38) MARTY DERBYSHIRE AND POKERNEWS PART WAYS

Following a year-long series of editorial tirades against the poker community, profitable players and perceived lack of societal contributions by the gambling population as a whole, PokerNews writer and live reporter Marty Derbyshire has been removed from the PokerNews team.

Is this the last the poker world has seen of Marty Derbyshire? How long should two collaborating parties throw virtual rocks at each other before moving on?

(17:53) BAD NEWS FOR AUSTRALIA POKER

The online poker landscape takes another hit this week as the Australian government aims to curb Internet gambling with new legislation that could have far-reaching ramifications that extend to the United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC).

The Land Down Under makes up a minority yet significant portion of Rest of World (RoW) real money online poker traffic, which is obviously causing unrest among pros in that country, many of whom may soon be forced to relocate.
