If you’re looking for a guy who does it all, look no further than Jeff Gross.
Gross is known as “Kidwhowon” online. According to PocketFives, Kidwhowon’s online total winnings are nearly $1.13 million, and he is ranked 376th in the world. Gross is also becoming a social media icon.
Gross’ first dream was of becoming a professional soccer player. Lucky for him, his career as a poker pro has gone quite well. Gross played for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks as a midfielder and was twice named to the Southeastern Conference and Conference USA academic honor rolls.
After graduating from college in 2008, Gross met US Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps at a Windsor, Ontario, Canada casino and the two became roommates for the next seven years.
31-year-old Gross is a self-proclaimed “huge believer in energy and flow” and, as a result, is a high-energy guy who loves positivity and creation in all aspects of his life. He attributes having Phelps as a roommate to contributing to his positive attitude, good habits, and strong work ethic. In fact, among Gross’ philanthropic endeavors is his proud support of the Michael Phelps Foundation.
Gross has all of the popular social media channels covered. From his Facebook page to his colorful Instagram posts to his entertaining YouTube channel vlog to Snapchat, he is most definitely an interesting—and active—personality.
On Twitter, Gross maintains both his own personal feed and one for his PokerFlowShow .
Gross is also quite active on Twitch Poker with nearly 200 posted videos. On all of these channels combined, Gross has an impressive 65,000 followers and has more than three million views (and counting.)
Suffice it to say, Jeff Gross is one popular dude.

In his bio Jeff Gross states that reading David Sklansky’s The Theory of Poker hooked him and “the rest was history.” From playing in home games to hosting games in his parents’ basement to frequenting Michigan casino Mt. Pleasant, he moved from $3/$6 limit to $10/$20 limit and became rather adept at online poker as well.
Not only is Gross an active and successful guy away from the table, but he is also quite lucky on the felt.
As for live career earnings, Gross has amassed nearly $3.1 million with his best live cash prize a hefty $414,770 which he earned with his third-place finish in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Seminole Hard Rock 2013 Poker Open.
Some of Gross’ other notable poker successes include:
Gross is married to the lovely Emilia Sobreira. He credits her—as well as his parents—with being “super supportive” of him. If you’ve ever wanted to know what it is like to be married to a professional poker player—or if you just want to hear her awesome accent—listen to what Emilia has to say.
In 2011, Gross became a member of Team PokerStars. He was excited to be able to provide feedback, saying that he says he has “big goals and visions with poker. ” His biggest inspiration is the increased excitement, larger tournament numbers, and many new venues which have been reenergizing the industry.
It doesn’t appear that Jeff Gross has any plans to coast on his current success in his personal, professional, and poker life. Expect to continue to see great things from this young man.
Until next time.
