Andres “educa-p0ker” Artinano is one of the best 6-max cash game players in the world, and he has joined team Upswing to coach our new Elite Cash Game Mastery training course.
In the words of Doug Polk, “This will be the most advanced NL course ever taught, and I am excited we managed to get to work with such a complete sicko.”
But you don’t have to take Doug’s word for it. Andres’ graph and stats speak for themselves:
Years before headlines were reading Andres “Educa-p0ker” Artinano Wins Nearly $1 Million in One Month, the big-dreaming Spaniard punched in an Internet search that would dramatically shift his life direction:
How to get rich on the Internet?
Seven words that have probably been Googled 10 billion times since Andres clicked search back in 2009. His results did not initially lead him to poker. It was sports betting that first peaked his interest. He won a few bucks, but left unfulfilled. Further down the list was online poker. Andres enrolled in a poker training course and almost immediately took down a MTT, which bumped his bankroll up $800. He was hooked.
Living up to his screenname, Andres managed to balance his education and poker for three years. Success in poker soon forced him out of his home country for tax reasons. He attempted to continue his studies from the UK taking distance courses. That went on until 2012, before Andres decided to focus solely on his game.
Always thirsty to move up in stakes, Andres did exactly that upon freeing up his schedule. It was rough at first, as the now full-time pro endured a disheartening end to 2012. By mid-2013, he moved to Madrid, choosing to play sparingly. Coaching and creating a stable of cash game hitmen filled his poker void. After a year off, Andres was ready to be a reg again.
Back to the UK he went. Unfortunately, his immediate results closely resembled those he had in 2012 – poor. But he was hungrier now, choosing to drop down stakes to tighten up his game, rather than his previous answer of taking a break from the tables.
Andres again enlisted the help of poker training, strengthening his preflop game and GTO skills through online courses. He also closely observed the strategies of high-stakes killer Jonas “OtB_RedBaron” Mols.
“Given I had automated so many aspects of my game, I had in-game time to think about the more infrequent situations,” Andres said of his RedBaron studying.
The studying paid off. Up in stakes he went, and up went the number in his Stars account.
Andres went on a run that saw him chew up a slew of Russian players and Isildur1, boosting his bankroll to new heights in 2015. His successful year afforded him an extended trip to Andorra, where he hit the ski slopes in between winning $100/200 sessions against the likes of “wilhasha”, “Kanu7” and “trueteller”. January 2016 was one of the most impressive months of high stakes poker on record, as “Educa-p0ker” had banked $833,747 in the first 31 days of the calendar year against the world’s toughest cash game competition.
If that wasn’t enough, Andres, who rarely ventures into MTT’s, sat down at the $1,000 Main Event of the Spring Championship of Online Poker and was the last man standing in the field of 5,027 players, a score good for $578,621.

Andres’ SCOOP success, while not a fluke, hardly defines him as a poker player. He is a cash game killer. The type of player that has people flocking to the rails just to watch him battle 6-max or heads-up.
Again at a crossroads, Andres is now looking to focus more on his entrepreneurial ventures, perhaps taking time away from the tables permanently. Having benefited greatly from training throughout his career, and his love for poker coaching, Andres says that when he leaves, “there is no need to keep all the information to myself.”
Upswing is ecstatic to welcome Andres to our stable of coaches. He will provide unparalleled insight to our new the Elite Cash Games Mastery course and have you moving up in stakes in no time.
