48th annual World Series of Poker dates announced.
Colossus & Millionaire Maker return.
Dates for the 48th annual World Series of Poker were revealed Monday on the official WSOP.com website. The 2017 WSOP will begin May 30th of next year and will run until the 17th of July before breaking for the “November Nine” Main Event final table.
Live cash games will run 24 hours per day inside the Rio Convention Center in Las Vegas with close to 500 poker tables to accommodate the tens of thousands of poker players who will make the trip to Sin City this coming summer.
Three relatively new promotional tournaments will make a return in 2017, starting with the $565 buy-in Colossus III set to kickoff on Friday, June 2nd. The Millionaire Maker and Monster Stack tournaments will again be included as bracelet events along with the “Little One for One Drop” (buy-in TBA).
The 2017 World Series of Poker Main Event will go live July 8th with ten straight days of competition. There will be three Day 1 starting flights on July 8th, 9th and 10th.
Upswing Poker featured pros Doug Polk and Ryan Fee made history this past summer by taking home the first-ever World Series of Poker Tag Team bracelets. However, it is unknown at this time whether the duo will get a chance to defend their championship next year.
“We want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and best wishes for a safe and successful 2017,” WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart stated in the press release. “We are busy trying to finalize the entire 2017 WSOP schedule. We anticipate a similar series to last year with a few new wrinkles, but ensuring a broad array of options to satisfy every potential participant.”
We will update this article with a link to a corresponding TwoPlusTwo NVG forum thread if one is created in upcoming days.
In the meantime, best wishes in 2017 from your friends at Team Upswing!
